### TL;DR

- Recent incidents involving Anthropic and OpenAI have shown that as AI systems become more capable, security, abuse prevention, and infrastructure are becoming just as important as the models themselves.
- As founders, your time is better spent improving your product than constantly fighting fraud, abuse, and operational edge cases.
- In [Dodo Payments v1.109.0](https://docs.dodopayments.com/changelog/v1.109.0), we completely rebuilt Analytics with real-time insights and introduced features like Prevent Trial Misuse to help founders spend less time managing infrastructure and more time building.

Hello everyone,

The biggest AI stories I read this week weren't about benchmark scores or new model launches.

They were about security.

Just days after OpenAI disclosed that one of its pre-release models breached Hugging Face during an internal cybersecurity evaluation, Anthropic published its own findings after reviewing more than 141,000 cybersecurity tests.

That review uncovered three separate incidents where its own models gained unauthorized access to real organizations during testing.

Neither company was celebrating these incidents.

They were sharing them because they expose a reality the entire industry is beginning to face.

As AI becomes more capable, the challenge is no longer just building smarter models. It's making sure those systems behave safely, securely, and predictably in the real world.

I think that's a lesson every founder can learn from.

## The Signal

Every major wave of technology brings a new wave of complexity.

The internet brought spam. Cloud computing brought new security challenges. Digital payments brought fraud, chargebacks, and compliance.

Now AI is introducing an entirely new class of risks.

As founders, we naturally spend most of our time thinking about features, onboarding, pricing, and growth. But every successful product eventually attracts misuse. Whether it's fraudulent transactions, fake accounts, trial abuse, or increasingly sophisticated AI-driven attacks, success often means your product becomes a target.

The better AI gets, the more important it becomes to build systems that can withstand misuse, not just deliver great experiences.

## Why This Matters

I think one of the biggest mistakes founders make is believing they need to build everything themselves.

You probably shouldn't be building your own fraud detection system.

And you definitely shouldn't be losing engineering time because someone figured out how to redeem your free trial ten times using email aliases.

Those problems are real.

But they're also distractions.

Every hour spent fighting abuse is an hour you're not improving your product.

The companies that win over the long run aren't just the ones with the smartest technology. They're the ones whose teams stay focused on building because the infrastructure underneath them quietly handles everything else.

That's exactly how we think about payments at Dodo.

## What We Shipped

That philosophy shaped [Dodo Payments v1.109.0](https://docs.dodopayments.com/changelog/v1.109.0#new-features).

The biggest update this month is [Analytics v3](https://docs.dodopayments.com/changelog/v1.109.0#1-analytics-v3-%E2%80%94-a-completely-rebuilt-dashboard), a complete rebuild of our analytics experience. Instead of adding more charts, we focused on giving founders a clearer understanding of their business the moment they log in.

The new dashboard brings together real-time revenue, one-click period comparisons, revenue by country, payment health, retention cohorts, MRR, churn, and recovery metrics into a single workspace. We've also introduced customizable dashboards, allowing you to organize the metrics that matter most to your business, alongside shareable chart cards that make it easy to create branded visuals for investor updates, team reports, or milestone posts.

Alongside Analytics v3, we shipped a number of improvements across the platform:

- **[Prevent Trial Misuse](https://docs.dodopayments.com/changelog/v1.109.0#3-prevent-trial-misuse-on-subscriptions)**, helping stop customers from repeatedly redeeming free trials using email aliases.
- **[Paid Trials](https://docs.dodopayments.com/changelog/v1.109.0#2-paid-trials-for-subscriptions-%26-checkout)** for subscriptions and checkout.
- **[Payout Accounts](https://docs.dodopayments.com/changelog/v1.109.0#4-payout-accounts)** for managing multiple bank accounts across currencies.
- **[Product & Add-on Pricing in Any Chargeable Currency](https://docs.dodopayments.com/changelog/v1.109.0#5-product-%26-add-on-pricing-in-any-chargeable-currency)** for greater flexibility when selling globally.
- **[Native Google and GitHub social login](https://docs.dodopayments.com/changelog/v1.109.0#7-native-social-login-in-the-mobile-app)** across our desktop and mobile apps.

Taken together, these updates reflect something we strongly believe at Dodo: founders shouldn't spend their time fighting infrastructure problems. They should spend it building products their customers love.

## Builder Spotlight

This week's Builder Spotlight is [ReplyDaddy](https://dodopayments.com/case-studies/replydaddy), an AI-powered Reddit marketing platform that started as nothing more than a simple internal script.

After sharing the tool publicly, two people reached out asking to buy it. There was no SaaS product yet, just proof that people were willing to pay. Instead of spending weeks building billing infrastructure, Neel used Dodo Payment Links to validate demand first, then later integrated recurring subscriptions in just two days using AI and our documentation.

Today, ReplyDaddy serves customers across multiple countries while Dodo handles subscriptions, tax compliance, and global payments in the background. As Neel put it, he barely opens the dashboard anymore, and that's exactly the point.

It's a great reminder that the best infrastructure is often the infrastructure you never have to think about.

## One Last Thought

Every generation of technology introduces new opportunities.

It also introduces new responsibilities.

As AI becomes more powerful, founders will inevitably spend more time thinking about security, abuse prevention, and reliability. But that doesn't mean every startup needs to become an expert in those problems.

Choose infrastructure that already is.

Because your biggest competitive advantage will never be how well you fight fraud or manage compliance.

It will always be how quickly you can keep building.
